Athletic Event Safety Protocol Notice
SCS families: we need your help ensuring all Stanly County Schools’ athletic events are safe and secure.
- No elementary or middle school student(s) should be dropped off and left unattended. Middle school students may remain after school for middle school events as long as the school is providing supervision and written permission has been received from a parent.
- All spectators are expected to be in their seats during the athletic event except trips to concessions or restrooms.
- Law enforcement and SCS staff will be on-site to address any potential disruptions.
- Entrance procedures may include the use of walkthrough / handheld metal detectors.
- There will be no re-entry to the game after exiting the stadium/school building.
- Prohibited items include, but are not limited to
- Weapons (including pocket knives), vapes, tobacco products, lighters, etc.
- The Stanly County School District reserves the right to deny any athletic event entry for anyone who fails to comply with these procedures.
Bag Procedures
Fans are encouraged not to bring any bags inside Stanly County Schools’ stadiums and gymnasiums for athletic events or school events; however, the following bags are permitted:
- Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC and do not exceed 12" x 6" x 12";
- Small clutch bags, with or without a handle or strap that do not exceed 4.5" x 6.5" (approximately the size of a hand).
- An exception will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection. Diaper bags are permitted as long as the child is in attendance.
- Any bag brought to the athletic event may be subject to be searched before entry into the stadium.
